Colorful Ambiance Partnered with Futuristic Style
Location: Reciprocity Industries HQ
Lighting System: Lazer Line Suspension
Lighting Designer: Lauri Patterson, One Source Lighting - Billings, MT
Offices have become a blank canvas for designers to
break outside of traditional lighting and incorporate innovative lighting that brings color, personality and
functionality into the space.
Reciprocity Industries had taken over a basement within
an old building that had originally been a warehouse. It
was a perfect space to expand this software company's
office footprint. Lauri Patterson, lighting designer at
One Source Lighting in Billings, Montana, was tasked
with creating unique lighting that spoke to the core of
their industry: technology and innovation. Lazer Line, a
suspended linear lighting system, was chosen to illuminate the office while creating a unique atmosphere and
futuristic ambiance using color.
The aesthetic desired was cutting edge, modern, and unique. Lauri decided to convey their technology-focused culture using architectural lighting.
There were challenges lighting the space as it had
existing duct work and vents to work around. For this space to be a productive working environment,
bright, functional light was needed. She selected Lazer Line for its unique uplight/downlight combination with both able to be separately controlled. Lazer Line could also mount
beneath the existing ceiling structures and span from wall-to-wall, up to 60 ft., illuminating the work space with no visible
diodes.
The downlight is a functional static
white light at 3000K, while the uplight on some of the Lazer Line's are
a vibrant color-changing RGB. Lazer
Line is a patented LED lighting system
that creates a paradigm shift with how
we use lighting and design within the
environment. It utilizes heatsink tape
which is fastened and tightened by
turnbuckles plastered into the wall or
ceiling for a seamless look. It enhances any space with pleasant soft light
and delivers designer quality color
rendering and multiple color temperatures, including warm dim and tunable
white, creating a space that is visually
spectacular.
"Communicating the culture of my client's
company was important. I also had to work around
existing ceiling beams, conduit, vents and pipes.
Lazer Line Suspension allowed me to check all the
boxes and create the perfect working environment"
